We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Transport to lead and oversee the operations of our company’s transportation network. The ideal candidate will ensure that transport services are efficient, safe, and cost-effective while maintaining the highest operational standards. This role demands a strategic leader capable of managing resources effectively, optimizing routes, and ensuring compliance with company policies to support overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company’s transportation network to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Control labor hours, travel expenses, fuel consumption, and other consumable supplies within budget, maximizing both time and cost efficiencies.
- Direct the selection, purchase, and utilization of company transport assets to meet operational needs.
- Coordinate timely repairs and maintenance of all transportation vehicles to ensure reliability and safety.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve transportation policies and procedures to enhance performance and compliance.
- Monitor daily routing activities and ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
- Optimize delivery routes and backhaul functions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Interpret, train, and enforce company policies and procedures within the transport department.
- Lead safety initiatives and conduct thorough investigations of any transport-related incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, profit plans, and capital requests as required to support operational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in transport management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, route optimization, and logistics planning.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
