Truck Dispatcher

Alev Dispatch, a trucking and dispatch service company located in Islamabad, specializes in Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, and Power Only freight across the United States and United Kingdom. We are looking to hire a full-time Truck Dispatcher to join our on-site operations team. This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily freight activities to ensure timely, safe, and profitable load pickups and deliveries. The Truck Dispatcher will act as a crucial link between drivers, customers, and brokers, maintaining compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations while driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Load Planning and Dispatch: Assign loads to drivers based on their location, availability, equipment type, and Hours of Service (HOS). Develop efficient routes to reduce deadhead miles and fuel consumption. Book freight through load boards and maintain direct relationships with shippers and brokers. Negotiate competitive rates to maximize freight lane profitability.

Driver and Shipment Management: Monitor trucks and shipments in real time using GPS and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) systems. Provide drivers with detailed load information, including pickup and delivery schedules and instructions. Address and resolve issues such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, detention, and weather-related disruptions. Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with drivers.

Customer Communication: Keep customers and brokers updated with timely shipment status reports. Respond promptly to inquiries, changes, and service concerns. Foster positive relationships that encourage repeat business.

Compliance and Documentation: Monitor driver HOS and ELD logs to ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Maintain accurate records of rate confirmations, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (PODs), and load details within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Coordinate with billing to ensure complete paperwork submission for invoicing.

Performance Expectations (KPIs): Achieve high on-time pickup and delivery rates, maximize revenue per truck and per mile, reduce empty (deadhead) miles, improve driver utilization and retention, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of load documentation.

Required Qualifications

- 1 to 3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher or in a related logistics role
- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and HOS regulations
- Hands-on experience with load boards such as DAT or Truckstop
- Familiarity with TMS software and ELD platforms
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads simultaneously
- Good knowledge of U.S. geography and major freight lanes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

An associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or business is preferred. Experience with specific freight types or advanced TMS platforms, along with an established network of brokers and shippers, will be advantageous. Bilingual proficiency in English is also a plus.

The position operates in a fast-paced environment with a Monday to Friday schedule from 6 AM to 4 PM. Compensation ranges from Rs40,000 to Rs80,000 per month. This is an on-site role based in Islamabad.
