We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Truck Dispatcher to join our growing US-based truck dispatch company. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in US truck dispatching, including load booking, rate negotiation, broker communication, route planning, and driver coordination. This role is ideal for someone who excels at keeping trucks moving efficiently while maximizing revenue and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Search for and book profitable loads for assigned trucks using platforms such as DAT and 123Loadboard.
- Negotiate competitive rates with brokers and shippers to ensure maximum profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, shippers, and carriers to facilitate smooth operations.
- Coordinate with drivers regarding pickup and delivery schedules, routes, and load requirements.
- Track shipments to guarantee timely pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor truck locations and identify suitable loads based on availability and destination.
- Plan efficient routes considering mileage, fuel costs, delivery deadlines, and driver availability.
- Manage rate confirmations, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (PODs), and other dispatch-related documentation.
- Negotiate and follow up on detention, layover, Truck Ordered Not Used (TONU), and other accessorial charges.
- Stay informed about market conditions and freight rates to optimize truck utilization.
- Resolve issues related to delays, appointments, breakdowns, and broker/driver communication promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, rates, miles, and dispatch activities.
- Consistently meet assigned weekly and monthly revenue and performance targets.
Required Qualifications
- Between 6 months to 1 year of experience in US truck dispatching is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the US trucking and freight market dynamics.
- Practical experience using DAT or other load boards for load searching and booking.
- Knowledge of various equipment types such as Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, and Box Truck.
- Excellent English communication and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of US states, major cities, freight lanes, routes, and time zones.
- Proven ability to negotiate rates and identify profitable loads effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple trucks simultaneously.
