Senior Accountant

UK FM, a well-established flour mill based in Rawat Islamabad, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This position requires a candidate with a strong accounting background capable of managing daily and monthly stock and account reconciliations with accuracy and punctuality. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, handling bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring timely updates of the ledger and profit and loss statements. This role demands close liaison with management, banks, and other departments while addressing accounting challenges effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a Masters degree in Commerce or Accounts, or have completed articleship with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the flour mills industry. The position begins with a three-month probation period and offers a negotiable salary starting at Rs. 120,000 based on education and expertise. In this role, the Senior Accountant will manage a team of 10 individuals, providing leadership and guidance to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with organizational standards. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to oversee account reconciliation software are critical. The role also involves coordination with receivables and ensuring that financial records are maintained promptly and accurately. This position is pivotal in maintaining the financial health of UK FM through diligent financial monitoring, reporting, and team management responsibilities.
Responsibilities

Manage daily and monthly account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Maintain and update financial records including general ledger, profit and loss accounts, and monthly financial statements.
Supervise a team of 10 accounting staff, providing leadership, training, and performance monitoring to meet departmental goals.
Utilize account reconciliation software efficiently to ensure proper bookkeeping and ledger management.
Liaise closely with management, banks, and internal departments to facilitate smooth financial operations and effective communication.
Address and resolve accounting issues promptly, including monitoring receivables and performing timely follow-ups.
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Conduct monthly closing processes and assist in audit preparations as necessary.
Implement best practices in accounting and financial management specific to the flour mill industry.
Negotiate with vendors, clients, and financial institutions to achieve favorable financial terms and maintain strong professional relationships.
