Accountant

Unique Pipes seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate holds a BCom or ACCA qualification and possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills. With a minimum of three years of experience, the Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations. This role involves managing a team of one person, supporting efficient financial operations, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes. The Accountant plays a key role at Unique Pipes by maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax documents, performing account reconciliations, and utilizing accounting software to streamline financial workflows. This position demands strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems to produce precise reports and support strategic decision-making. The candidate collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to maintain transparency and integrity in financial records, enhancing the overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate general ledger entries to ensure financial integrity.
Prepare and review financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Lead tax preparation and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and deadlines.
Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances to support financial planning.
Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel to manage financial data efficiently and generate detailed reports.
Supervise and provide guidance to a team member, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality work output.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide support for internal audits.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce reporting timelines.
