Unit Head – Strategy Design (AVP / VP) - TJ / 1913676

National Bank of Pakistan, one of the largest and most prominent banks in the country, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the position of Unit Head – Strategy Design (AVP / VP) based in Karachi. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with the Bank’s overall goals.
- Oversee data models and architecture to ensure consistency, scalability, and data integrity across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with business, IT, and analytics teams to design and deliver efficient data solutions.
- Drive initiatives related to data quality, metadata management, and master data to support accurate and reliable decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and governance committees to promote a strong data-driven culture within the Bank.
- Evaluate and implement advanced tools and methodologies to enhance data design and analytics capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships to adopt and integrate emerging data management technologies.
- Lead and mentor the Strategy & Design team, fostering the development of both technical and strategic skills.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of data initiatives.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of professional experience in banking, fintech, capital markets, financial institutions, or software houses, including a minimum of three years focused on digital banking strategy design, development, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in establishing strategic frameworks and aligning initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Strong understanding of data governance, enterprise data architecture, and scalable data solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across all organizational levels, influencing leadership and execution teams alike.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or relevant professional certifications in data strategy design, data science, or business analysis will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in strategic planning, driving cross-functional collaboration, and influencing decision-making at senior leadership levels is highly desirable.
- The position offers a contractual employment term of three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion. Compensation and benefits will be provided in accordance with the Bank’s policies.
