Unit Head - Data Analytics & Insights (AVP) - TJ / 1903589

The successful candidate will contribute to enhancing financial control and reporting by leveraging data analytics and insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in data preparation related to IFRS 9, financial reporting, management reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop trend, variance, and exception analyses to highlight key movements, data issues, and areas requiring management attention.
- Support data preparation for updating IFRS 9 models including EAD, PD, LGD, and CCF.
- Manage and update models used for the fair valuation of investments in unlisted equities.
- Create MIS dashboards, analytics, and management information reports for the CFO and senior management.
- Translate complex data sets into clear, concise management presentations and executive-level visualizations.
- Conduct analytical reviews of financial statement line items, disclosures, and accounting information, identifying unusual movements and inconsistencies.
- Prepare financial disclosures for annual and quarterly financial statements.
- Enhance data-driven financial reporting through improved analytics, visualization, and automated reporting tools.
- Coordinate with Risk, Credit, IT, Business, and Finance teams to ensure data consistency and integrity for financial reporting and analysis.
- Support the CFO and Head of Financial Reporting & Strategy on special assignments related to IFRS 9, financial reporting, accounting, and financial analytics.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum graduation or equivalent from a university/college/institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, or professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, or ICMA.
- At least 6 years of experience in data management, analytics, IFRS 9 models, or Basel financial reporting functions.
- Strong data visualization and dashboarding skills with proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools.
- Good command of financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
- Ability to analyze and present large, complex financial datasets effectively.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, including data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent PowerPoint and executive presentation skills.
- Fair understanding of banking products, credit, non-performing loans (NPLs), provisioning, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Risk, Credit, IT, and Business units.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

- Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, and/or DAX is preferred.

Employment Details

This position is based in Karachi and will report to the Wing Head of Strategic Finance & Special Projects. The employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the management’s discretion. Compensation and benefits will be offered in accordance with the bank’s policies.
