Upwork Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Upwork/Technical Bidding Specialist with at least one year of practical experience in securing software development contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing technical project briefs, defining software solutions, and creating customized technical proposals on Upwork and similar platforms. Acting as the first point of contact for technical buyers, you will play a crucial role in establishing our agency’s credibility before involving the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess incoming Upwork project briefs on a daily basis.
- Evaluate technical feasibility, project scope, and client alignment.
- Develop tailored, high-impact proposals that address client needs, technology stacks, and challenges.
- Manage initial communications with clients, including responding to inquiries and conducting technical discovery through targeted questions.
- Clarify project requirements and scope prior to engaging the engineering team.
- Present relevant technical case studies and live demonstrations to build client trust.
- Maintain consistent proposal submissions and accurately track lead statuses.
- Monitor proposal outcomes, including response rates, conversion metrics, and wins.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in technical bidding for software development or IT services agencies.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to interpret and deconstruct complex project briefs, including those related to AI and custom web applications.
- Proven success in bidding, qualifying, and closing software development projects on Upwork.
- Skilled in translating client requirements into clear acceptance criteria, technical discovery questions, and project milestones.
- Excellent written English skills, capable of crafting bespoke, non-generic proposals without reliance on low-effort AI-generated content.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Background in software engineering, technical writing, or project scoping is highly desirable.
- Experience with additional lead-generation channels such as LinkedIn outreach and Clutch is advantageous.
- Familiarity with software development processes and technical terminology is beneficial.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs70,000 to Rs80,000.
- This is an in-person role based in Valencia, Lahore.

Candidates must be capable of independently understanding technical project briefs involving AI, custom web applications, APIs, databases, or other software solutions to identify critical requirements before preparing proposals. The role demands more than just submitting proposals; it requires a deep understanding of client needs, the ability to identify suitable solutions, ask insightful questions, showcase relevant portfolio work, and convert qualified leads into successful software development projects.
