This role focuses on introducing and establishing the brand within independent retail stores across the U.S., primarily in the outdoor, hunting, fishing, archery, camping, and sporting goods sectors. You will manage the entire sales cycle independently—from identifying suitable stores and contacting owners or buyers, to presenting the brand, sending samples, closing initial orders, and maintaining ongoing relationships for repeat business. This position requires a proactive, hands-on approach with a high volume of outbound calls, averaging around 50 calls per day, making it ideal for someone who enjoys direct communication and relationship-building with store owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify independent retailers in outdoor, hunting, fishing, archery, camping, and sporting goods markets across the U.S.
- Initiate contact with store owners and buyers via phone, email, and other channels
- Conduct a high volume of outbound calls daily to build and maintain a strong retail sales pipeline
- Present the brand, product range, and wholesale program effectively to potential retail partners
- Provide product samples to qualified retailers and share pricing and wholesale materials
- Follow up consistently to convert interested stores into active dealers
- Open new dealer accounts and close initial wholesale orders independently
- Manage dealer accounts long term to encourage repeat orders and sustained growth
- Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, and follow-ups in the CRM system
- Gather and relay retailer feedback on products, pricing, margins, and the dealer program
- Identify new business opportunities, including buying groups and industry contacts
- Represent the brand at trade shows and industry events as needed
Required Qualifications
- Excellent spoken English with confidence in communicating with U.S. store owners and buyers
- Availability to work during standard U.S. business hours
- Experience in B2B, wholesale, or retail sales environments
- Comfortable managing a high volume of outbound calls and independently maintaining a sales pipeline
- Strong relationship-driven communication skills rather than relying on scripted sales tactics
- Demonstrated ability to follow up persistently and motivation to open accounts and close deals
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with an international team
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience selling to independent U.S. retailers within outdoor, hunting, fishing, camping, knives, or sporting goods categories
- Background as an inside sales representative, manufacturer’s rep, distributor rep, rep group or agency member, outdoor brand salesperson, retail buyer, or store manager
- Existing network of dealers, buyers, distributors, or buying groups in relevant industries
- Genuine knowledge of knives and outdoor equipment to engage naturally in product discussions
Compensation includes a monthly retainer ranging from $1,000 to $1,200, plus uncapped commission on every new dealer account opened and repeat orders from managed accounts. Candidates with strong industry experience or an established retail network may negotiate a customized compensation package. Independent sales representatives and freelancers are encouraged to apply.
