Video Editing Instructor

Are you a professional video editor with a passion for sharing your knowledge and expertise with others? We're looking for a skilled individual to join our team as a Video Editor Tutor. In this role, you'll not only utilise your editing prowess to create compelling videos but also mentor and educate students and aspiring editors on the art and techniques of video editing, covering everything from reel creation to long-form content.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging and informative lessons, tutorials, and workshops on video editing principles, techniques, and software tools.
Provide personalised feedback and guidance to students and novice editors to help them improve their editing skills and achieve their creative goals.
Design curriculum and learning materials tailored to the needs and skill levels of participants, covering topics such as reel editing, storytelling, pacing, and visual effects.
Demonstrate advanced editing techniques and workflows using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Collaborate with other instructors and team members to enhance course offerings and educational resources.
Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and technologies in video editing and incorporate relevant updates into teaching materials.
Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure effective learning outcomes.

Requirements:

Extensive experience as a professional video editor with a strong portfolio showcasing your editing skills across a range of projects and genres.
Proven track record of teaching or mentoring others in video editing, either through formal instruction, workshops, or online tutorials.
Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software and tools, with the ability to demonstrate advanced techniques and workflows.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
Patient, supportive, and enthusiastic attitude toward teaching and working with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Strong organisational skills and ability to plan and deliver effective lessons and workshops.
Bachelor's degree in film production, digital media, or a related field is preferred but not required.
