Oaktree, part of Brookfield’s $416 billion credit platform, is a leading credit manager known for its opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled investment approach across credit, equity, and real estate. Wholly owned by Brookfield, a global investment firm managing over $1 trillion in assets, Oaktree fosters a collaborative, inclusive environment that values diversity of thought. The firm emphasizes career development, training, and strong community support through philanthropic initiatives.

The Vice President will play a pivotal leadership role in building and developing the Global Opportunities, Value Opportunities, and Emerging Markets Opportunities fund accounting team based in Hyderabad. This role combines technical fund accounting oversight with people leadership, resource planning, and managing the phased transition of work from third-party providers to the in-house team. Initially, the Vice President will support the review of selected co-investment funds and overflow assignments from other offices, gradually expanding the team’s responsibilities as capabilities grow. Close collaboration with fund accounting leadership across offices, internal partners, and external service providers is essential to ensure accurate, timely, and well-controlled reporting.

- Review Support: Collaborate with fund accounting teams in other offices to manage reviews of co-investment funds and overflow work, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, escalation protocols, and quality standards.
- Transition Management: Oversee a controlled, phased transition of fund preparation activities from third-party service providers to the Hyderabad team, starting with straightforward funds and expanding as the team develops.
- Fund Accounting Oversight: Supervise monthly and quarterly close activities, including reconciliations, portfolio activity, pricing, valuation support, expense accruals, and management fee calculations.

- Financial Reporting: Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared under U.S. GAAP, including supporting schedules and audit deliverables.

- Cash and Liquidity Management: Oversee cash planning and liquidity monitoring, ensuring timely resolution of cash or position discrepancies.
- Service Provider Oversight: Monitor external fund administrators’ work quality and timeliness, support issue resolution, and evaluate activities for potential in-house transition.
- Controls and Governance: Maintain effective financial reporting controls, review documentation, and update procedures as responsibilities shift.
- Relationship Management: Coordinate with investment teams, client services, legal, tax, treasury, valuation, auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and meet fund requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify workflow enhancements, strengthen controls, and scale operations. Collaborate on automation and reporting solutions, including Power BI or similar tools.
- Ad Hoc Support: Respond to requests from leadership and stakeholders and perform other duties as necessary.
