Lucky Fours is a rapidly growing premium watch ecommerce brand that integrates AI and automation deeply into its operations. Unlike traditional companies that add AI as an afterthought, Lucky Fours is rebuilding its core workflows around AI, with multiple AI systems actively making decisions and performing tasks daily. The company is now expanding this AI-driven operating layer and is seeking a skilled video editor to take ownership of a significant part of this growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a creative strategist to receive briefs outlining the angle, script, voice, music, and visual direction for each video. The brief provides guidance, but the final video design is your creative responsibility.
- Produce 1 to 2 high-quality videos per week, focusing on thoughtful design rather than volume.
- Plan the video structure before editing, determining how it opens, develops, and feels, rather than simply following a timeline.
- Select specific visuals from a large clip library to match the script and creative direction, making deliberate and defensible choices.
- Design comprehensive soundscapes including music, sound effects, ambience, risers, and impacts, ensuring sound enhances the video without overpowering it.
- Analyze music tracks to understand beats, tension, momentum, and how key script lines align with the audio, elevating the ad from good to great.
- Process AI-generated voiceovers with professional audio techniques such as EQ, compression, de-essing, saturation, and spatial effects to make them sound natural and recorded. Manually adjust timing and pauses rather than relying on automated outputs.
- Create clean, well-designed captions with typography that complements the video style, avoiding default auto-caption presets.
- Incorporate purposeful animation and motion graphics, including text and transitions, ensuring every movement serves a reason.
- Develop hooks that engage viewers within the first three seconds, even before any words are heard, demonstrating a strong sense of pacing and impact.
Required Qualifications
- A strong aesthetic sense with the ability to evaluate whether a frame or sequence works visually.
- Proficiency in color grading and the ability to intentionally choose and explain specific looks.
- Real sound design skills beyond simply placing background music.
- Expertise in premium editing software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro. Use of basic apps like CapCut is not acceptable.
- Exceptional attention to detail that is evident in the final video product.
- Ability to vary creative approaches so each video feels fresh and distinct, avoiding repetitive styles.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- This role is not for editors who simply combine clips, add auto captions, and submit. Nor is it suitable for UGC editors, as the craft and expectations differ significantly.
- The position offers remote work flexibility.
- You will work directly with a creative strategist who provides real-time feedback to refine your work.
- The expected workload is 1 to 2 videos per week with a 48-hour turnaround per brief.
- Compensation details will be determined based on experience and fit.
Applicants should submit only two of their best high-end video edits where they were responsible for the design work, not just assembly. Along with the videos, provide a brief explanation (one or two lines) describing your role and creative decisions for each. To demonstrate you have read the full description, please include the phrase "READ IT" at the top of your application message.
This is an opportunity to work at a high level of video production, pushing creative boundaries in a cutting-edge AI-driven environment. If this aligns with your skills and ambitions, we encourage you to apply.
