About the Role
We are hiring an experienced, creatively strong, and technically advanced Video Editor to take ownership of professional video post-production across long-form, short-form, educational, interview, podcast, promotional, and brand content.
This role goes significantly beyond assembling footage or applying transitions. We are ideas effectively.
You will be expected to take raw footage, creative direction, scripts, brand assets, and supporting materials and independently develop them into polished, publication-ready content for platforms including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital channels.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical post-production skills with editorial judgment. You should understand not only how to execute an edit, but why an editing decision improves clarity, emotion, storytelling, retention, or brand perception.
You will work across the complete post-production lifecycle—from footage organization and rough cuts through picture lock, motion graphics, sound treatment, color correction, quality control, versioning, platform adaptation, and final delivery.
What You Will Own
Advanced Video Editing & Post-Production
- Own video projects from raw footage ingestion through final delivery.
- Transform unstructured footage into coherent, engaging, professionally paced content.
- Make independent editorial decisions regarding cuts, sequencing, pacing, emphasis, and narrative flow.
- Perform dialogue editing, J-cuts, L-cuts, match cuts, pacing adjustments, reframing, speed manipulation, and other professional editing techniques where appropriate.
- Identify redundant, weak, repetitive, or low-value sections and restructure content without compromising the intended message.
- Maintain continuity across dialogue, visuals, graphics, sound, and narrative.
- Manage multiple footage sources, cameras, audio tracks, screen recordings, graphics, and supporting assets.
- Produce clean masters and platform-specific deliverables according to technical specifications.
Storytelling & Editorial Judgment
- Identify the central message, narrative, and intended audience before beginning an edit.
- Turn raw information into structured visual stories with clear beginnings, development, and payoff.
- Determine what should be removed, emphasized, repositioned, or visually supported.
- Preserve speaker credibility and natural delivery while improving pace.
- Recognize when an edit requires energy and when restraint produces a stronger result.
- Use B-roll, graphics, text, sound, and visual changes intentionally rather than decoratively.
- Maintain editorial accuracy when editing educational, business, technology, or factual content.
YouTube & Long-Form Editing
- Edit professional educational, business, talking-head, documentary-style, interview, and long-form YouTube content.
- Build strong cold opens and introductions.
- Structure longer videos into logical sections and narrative beats.
- Integrate B-roll, screen recordings, screenshots, graphics, charts, text, and other supporting visual evidence.
- Maintain viewer interest without compromising depth or credibility.
- Create chapter-ready structures where appropriate.
- Deliver technically optimized YouTube masters.
Short-Form & Social Editing
- Create high-retention vertical content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, and similar platforms.
- Extract compelling standalone narratives from longer recordings.
- Rebuild clips rather than simply cropping long-form videos vertically.
- Create strong first-frame and first-seconds hooks.
- Use dynamic captioning, visual hierarchy, punch-ins, reframing, B-roll, graphics, and sound intentionally.
- Adapt pacing and creative treatment according to platform behavior and target audience.
- Maintain safe zones and mobile readability across vertical formats.
Podcast & Multi-Camera Editing
- Edit professional multi-camera podcasts and interviews.
- Synchronize cameras and independently recorded audio.
- Select camera angles based on speaker, reaction, and conversation flow.
- Remove interruptions, dead space, mistakes, and unnecessary repetition while preserving natural conversation.
- Produce full episodes, highlights, teasers, and promotional clips.
Motion Graphics, Audio & Color
- Create professional titles, lower thirds, captions, text animations, callouts, overlays, and motion graphics.
- Clean, synchronize, balance, and enhance dialogue audio.
- Apply appropriate music, sound effects, EQ, compression, and noise reduction.
- Perform color correction and maintain consistency across cameras and lighting conditions.
- Maintain strong typography, visual hierarchy, readability, and brand consistency.
Post-Production & Quality Control
- Maintain organized footage, audio, graphics, project files, versions, and final exports.
- Conduct technical and editorial QC before submission.
- Check synchronization, captions, graphics, audio levels, frame errors, resolution, aspect ratio, and export quality.
- Use AI-assisted editing tools where appropriate while manually verifying outputs.
- Maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable post-production workflows.
AI-Assisted Editing
- Use AI-assisted transcription, captioning, cleanup, search, masking, reframing, generative, or workflow tools where they improve efficiency.
- Verify AI-generated outputs before incorporating them into final work.
- Recognize when automation reduces quality and manual intervention is required.
- Never allow AI tools to replace editorial judgment, factual verification, or quality control.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality when processing company or unreleased content through external tools.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Translate creative briefs into strong post-production decisions.
- Communicate missing assets, technical issues, blockers, and delivery risks proactively.
- Receive feedback professionally and implement revisions accurately.
- Explain the reasoning behind important editing decisions.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Take ownership of deliverables without requiring constant direction.
