Video Editor

We are seeking a full-time, in-house Video Editor based in Lahore to join the team behind MateFi (matefi.ai), a personal finance app. This role involves transforming raw footage into engaging, polished videos that document the startup journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the editing styles popular among English-speaking creators and be passionate about storytelling through video. You will work closely with a videographer who handles filming, while your primary focus will be on editing and preparing content for publishing across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Edit a variety of video formats including talking-head reels, weekly vlogs, and direct-to-camera “Table Talks” videos.
- Add captions, subtitles, on-screen text, and light graphic elements to enhance viewer engagement.
- Design thumbnails and cover images that attract viewers and complement the video content.
- Export and optimize videos for multiple social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and YouTube Shorts.
- Maintain high standards of editing quality, consistency, and attention to detail throughout all projects.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience editing videos in English, with a portfolio demonstrating work on talking-head videos and vlogs.
- Familiarity with the editing styles commonly used by English-speaking content creators.
- Strong understanding of content related to SaaS founders, startups, and the build-in-public movement.
- Excellent storytelling instincts combined with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality content on an ongoing basis.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- This is a full-time, in-house position located in Lake City, Lahore.
- The workload involves producing ongoing weekly content across all three video formats.
- Candidates must have their own laptop equipped for video editing tasks.
