The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join as a Visiting Consultant Radiologist. This role requires a comprehensive expertise in all facets of radiology, with particular focus on ultrasonography, cross-sectional body imaging, or women’s imaging. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing and expanding the radiology services at the Karachi Diagnostic Centre & Clinic (KDC&C). Collaboration with radiographers, staff, and management will be essential to uphold and advance quality assurance protocols and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert radiological consultations across a broad spectrum of imaging modalities, with emphasis on ultrasonography, cross-sectional body imaging, and women’s imaging.
- Collaborate closely with radiographers and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic imaging services.
- Lead efforts to strengthen radiology services at the KDC&C by implementing and monitoring quality assurance and quality practice guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards related to radiology services.
- Contribute to continuous professional development activities and support training initiatives for junior staff and radiographers.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR, UK) with Completion of Certificate of Specialist Training (CCST) in Radiology, accompanied by a minimum of three years’ experience practicing in the UK.
- Alternatively, American Board Certification in Radiology is acceptable, with a preference for candidates who have completed a post-residency fellowship in a subspecialty of radiology.
- Candidates holding FCPS in Radiology must have at least three years of subsequent overseas experience in a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams and patients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage workload efficiently and meet clinical deadlines.
