VMware Administrator
Location: Pakistan (Lahore / Karachi / Islamabad)

We are seeking an experienced VMware Administrator to oversee and optimize our virtualized infrastructure. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with VMware vSphere environments, including virtual machine provisioning, resource management, backup and recovery, and performance tuning. This role requires a proactive individual capable of maintaining a stable and secure VMware environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support enterprise infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Provision, configure, and manage virtual machines in line with business requirements.
- Monitor performance, availability, capacity, and resource utilization of the VMware environment.
- Handle virtual machine administration tasks such as deployment, migration, cloning, snapshots, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for virtual machines.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to the VMware infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues affecting performance, availability, and connectivity.
- Manage VMware clusters, resource pools, datastores, and virtual networking components.
- Monitor storage, CPU, memory, and network usage, applying performance tuning as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of VMware infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and operational activities.
- Implement security best practices and access controls within the virtual environment.
- Collaborate effectively with Linux, Windows, Network, Storage, and Security teams to ensure seamless enterprise infrastructure support.

Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Server administration.
- Proven experience in virtual machine provisioning, configuration, migration, and lifecycle management.
- Solid knowledge of VMware networking, storage, clusters, and resource management.
- Experience with VM backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform performance tuning in a virtualized environment.
- Understanding of virtualization security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise storage and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of PowerCLI or other virtualization automation tools is a plus.
- VMware certification such as VCP is preferred.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in VMware administration or managing virtualization infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing VMware environments within enterprise or data center settings.
