Security Guard

SECOURS ISLAMIQUE FRANCE (SIF) is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and development aid worldwide. Since 1991, SIF has been working across more than 20 countries.

In Pakistan, we have been actively serving vulnerable communities and marginalized groups since 2010 by providing them humanitarian assistance during emergencies and supporting them through the implementation of sustainable development programs in Child Protection and Child Wellbeing, WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Education during both early recovery and development phases.

SIF is currently providing its services in all provinces of Pakistan, including Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan, and KPK, and has a presence in 33 vulnerable districts. In light of increasing challenges such as inflation, illiteracy, poverty, and climate change, SIF believes that there is a high need for enhanced collaboration between NGOs and government institutions. By sharing experiences, innovations, and lessons learned, we can collectively improve the well-being of children and alleviate the miseries of communities across Pakistan.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: As part of the implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), this position may have indirect access to children or personal data about children through program implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The incumbent is expected to fully comply with SIF’s CSP and ensure all project activities uphold the principles of child safety, dignity, and protection.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensure security measures of the office building (gates, doors, and lights switched off during the night).
Ensure adequate access control according to Guards Regulation, SIF rules, and given instructions.
Ensure the security of the premises and employees by guardianship and not leaving the entrance empty.
Give security alerts in case of any emergency situation or direct threat by immediately reporting to the Security Focal Person of the base location.
Ensure the security of the vehicles parked outside.
Responsible for the security of surroundings and immediately report any specific problem, information, risk, or threat to the supervisor at the earliest.
Ensure the office equipment (official systems, furniture, and gadgets) are properly safe and secured.
Inform the line manager in case of any losses occurred to SIF assets/vehicle.
Maintain an In-Out register.
Check with SIF staff before allowing any non-SIF person to cross the entrance gate.
Support drivers and staff when loading and offloading vehicles.
Fill up the generator, fuel pump, etc.; follow up form on a daily basis.
Manage inverters and battery service (if needed).
Manage bicycles parking, keys, and regular check and maintenance of the bicycles.
Report about any technical problem of equipment to the logistic team.
Start and stop the generator, fuel pump, etc. (if needed, and according to schedules).
Check fuel, engine oil level, refill before start. Refill if needed.
Maintain proper track record of lists of vendors for any procurement.
Properly maintain track record of assets.
Maintain proper visitor record.

This list is not limited; the employee may be required to perform any other task necessary and compatible with its functions.

Knowledge/Skills/Behaviour:

Education: Can read and write. Able to understand Sindhi & Urdu (English may be preferred but not required).

Experience: Relevant experience, basic writing skills, and good sense of organization. Languages: Sindhi, Urdu, and basic English. Should be a local resident.
