We are looking for a committed full-time Web Developer to join our team in Karachi on a permanent basis. In this role, you will take full ownership of our main WordPress website, driving its development, maintenance, and optimization. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, reliable, and eager to grow with the company. This position requires strong skills in both front-end and back-end WordPress development, along with a good understanding of basic SEO and IT systems. The role is office-based, promoting close collaboration and direct interaction with management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and continuously enhance the company’s WordPress website to ensure optimal performance and a seamless user experience. Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins tailored to meet specific business requirements. Handle front-end development tasks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create responsive and visually engaging interfaces. Perform back-end development involving PHP, WordPress core functionalities, and MySQL database management. Implement and uphold basic SEO best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings. Integrate APIs and third-party services to extend website capabilities. Set up and manage Google Analytics for monitoring website traffic and generating essential reports. Optimize website speed, security, and overall performance to ensure smooth operation. Manage domains, hosting, and server-related tasks to maintain website availability and reliability. Oversee email setup and diagnostics, including DNS, SMTP, and deliverability troubleshooting. Provide ongoing website support and troubleshooting to quickly resolve any issues. Assist management in effectively using WordPress and understanding the technical aspects of the website.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of one year of professional experience in web development with a focus on WordPress is essential. Strong hands-on expertise in WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development, is required. Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is necessary. Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations is expected. Familiarity with Google Analytics and website tracking tools is important. A basic understanding of SEO principles, including on-page SEO, technical SEO, and website performance optimization, is needed. Good knowledge of domains, hosting environments, and general IT systems is required. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. The ability to work independently, respond promptly online, and manage tasks efficiently, including in remote setups when needed, is important. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from a recognized and accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
