We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our team responsible for the in-house development and management of various applications, including a Campus Management System. The role involves close collaboration with web developers and database administrators to deliver efficient, scalable, and secure web solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PHP development within a Linux environment and be capable of maintaining and enhancing existing applications while staying updated on industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop web applications using PHP, Linux, MySQL, and Apache frameworks.
- Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules to support application functionality.
- Coordinate with developers and regularly update the Project Manager and Head of IT on development progress to meet data acquisition requirements.
- Refactor, optimize, and improve existing codebases to enhance maintainability and scalability.
- Ensure consistency and validity of HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript across all applications.
- Utilize PHP web frameworks such as Laravel and Yii to develop robust applications.
- Work with front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Implement user authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments.
- Integrate multiple data sources and databases into unified systems.
- Collaborate with the Database Administrator to design database schemas that effectively represent and support business processes.
- Maintain awareness of new trends and best practices in web development.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility and security standards.
- Identify common PHP or web server vulnerabilities and implement appropriate solutions.
- Apply fundamental design principles to create scalable applications.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in PHP-based web application development within a Linux/MySQL/Apache environment.
- Strong knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Yii.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Understanding of user authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience with database schema design and integration of multiple data sources.
- Familiarity with web security best practices and common vulnerabilities.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management.
