Web Development Intern

Grupo Island, a UK-based organisation operating in education, vocational training, software development, and digital services, is expanding its technical team in Lahore, Pakistan. We are seeking a motivated Web Development Intern to join us on a paid internship basis for 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension. This role offers an excellent opportunity for students, fresh graduates, and aspiring web developers to gain hands-on experience working on live business websites and digital projects in a professional environment. Immediate availability is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining company websites. Support the creation of responsive and user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies. Participate in front-end development and website design implementation. Help identify and resolve website bugs and technical issues. Contribute to improving website performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility. Assist in integrating website content and layouts. Collaborate with SEO and content teams to implement website enhancements. Learn and use version control tools such as Git and GitHub. Work closely with senior developers on ongoing projects, following coding standards and maintaining clean, organized code. Continuously learn new technologies and contribute ideas to improve website functionality.

Required Qualifications
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Understanding of responsive web design principles. Familiarity with JavaScript or a strong willingness to develop these skills. Good problem-solving and analytical abilities. Eagerness to learn new technologies and development techniques. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems is advantageous. Basic knowledge of PHP, Python, or other programming languages is a plus. Experience with React or other front-end frameworks is desirable. Exposure to Git and GitHub version control tools is beneficial. Basic understanding of website hosting, domains, and deployment processes is preferred. A portfolio showcasing personal, academic, or freelance projects will strengthen your application.

This paid internship offers a stipend ranging from Rs20,000 to Rs50,000 per month, depending on skills and experience. The role is based on-site in Lahore, providing a collaborative work environment and the potential for future employment based on performance and business needs.
