Web Development Team Lead - TJ / 1927600

Our client, Hirewise, is seeking an experienced Web Development Team Lead based in Faisalabad. This role is critical in guiding the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level web applications. The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in web and software development, with at least two to three years in a leadership or engineering management position. The Web Development Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of around 20 engineers, driving the technical strategy and architecture to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance web solutions.

A strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel frameworks is essential, along with hands-on experience working with APIs, payment gateways, and microservices. The manager will also ensure adherence to best practices in code review, automated testing, and quality assurance to maintain high standards in software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the architecture and development of enterprise web applications, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team of approximately 15-20 members, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Oversee integration with payment gateways and third-party systems to support seamless functionality.
- Establish and enforce standards for code reviews, automated testing, and overall quality assurance.
- Manage Agile/Scrum workflows, including sprint planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
- Continuously improve application performance, scalability, and security measures.
- Define and implement best practices for Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and technical documentation.
- Promote the adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or other LLM-based technologies.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide support for team development and career progression.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in web and software development.
- At least 2-3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
- Strong hands-on expertise with PHP and Laravel frameworks.
- Proven experience managing teams of 15-20+ engineers.
- Extensive experience with APIs, payment gateways, microservices, and third-party integrations.
- Solid knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, Redis, Linux environments, and CI/CD processes.
- Deep understanding of code review processes, automated testing, application security, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding efficiency and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Livewire.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Background in SaaS, e-commerce, or enterprise platform development.
- Agile/Scrum certifications or relevant technical qualifications are a plus.
