Job Description:
- Setting up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales, Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
- Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients, Present, garnish and arrange final dishes, Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
- Cook food in a timely manner
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff, Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
- Ensure appealing plate presentation
- Slightly modify recipes to enhance quality and taste
- Monitor overall food stock and place orders
- Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
- Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
- Execute opening and closing procedures and maintain inventories
- Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients
Requirements:
- Minimum ten (10) years of hotel, institutional, restaurant, or catering company cooking experience
- Must have Current SERVSAFE certification or has successfully completed a sanitation course
- Associate degree in hotel or institutional food preparation preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in cooking and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard food service equipment
- Oral communication
- Planning, problem solving, and teamwork
- Maintain Recipe book
- Expert in short time notice cooking
- Expert in all types of cuisines
- Excellent HSE experience and food safety
Experienced in Cooking, in large quantities
