WordPress Developer Intern

Located in Johar Town, Lahore, this full-time WordPress Developer Intern position offers an exciting opportunity for a hands-on developer to independently manage website development, customization, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization. The role demands more than just page-building skills; candidates should be proficient in PHP and core WordPress functionalities. Responsibilities include fixing issues on existing websites, implementing designs from Figma, and resolving technical challenges with minimal supervision. The working hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the salary is competitive within the market. This is an on-site role requiring physical presence at the office.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites tailored to various client and business requirements.
- Convert Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress sites.
- Transform AI-generated or AI-built websites into clean, well-structured WordPress platforms.
- Customize and extend themes, plugins, templates, and core functionalities.
- Build custom features using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Utilize popular page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, and Divi.
- Work with WooCommerce, custom post types, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), forms, and other WordPress features.
- Implement basic API integrations and connect WordPress with third-party services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress core, plugins, themes, PHP, JavaScript, and compatibility.
- Make design and functional updates without disrupting existing website functionality.
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, responsiveness, and security.
- Manage website migrations, staging environments, backups, and deployments.
- Review existing websites and codebases to suggest practical improvements.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, SEO specialists, project managers, and fellow developers.

Required Qualifications

- 3 to 6 months of professional experience in WordPress development.
- Strong practical knowledge of WordPress and PHP.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience in creating and customizing WordPress themes, templates, and functionalities.
- Familiarity with page builders including Elementor, WPBakery, and Divi.
- Experience working with WooCommerce and its customization.
- Understanding of WordPress hooks, actions, filters, template hierarchy, custom post types, and custom fields.
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs and API integrations.
- Ability to convert Figma designs and AI-generated websites into clean, responsive WordPress sites.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Basic understanding of website performance optimization, caching, and security best practices.
- Capability to work with unfamiliar code and existing setups.
- High attention to detail regarding spacing, typography, responsiveness, and functionality.
- Ability to work independently and develop practical solutions.
- Good communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cPanel, Plesk, and other hosting environments.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare services.
- Hands-on experience with website migrations and hosting-related troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of third-party plugins, integrations, forms, payment gateways, and external services.
