The Catalyst Group is seeking a Writing Counselor on behalf of its client, Dream 3, a prominent education consultancy based in Lahore, Pakistan. This role centers on guiding students through their international university application process by combining strong writing skills with personalized mentoring and counseling. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with students to help them clearly and authentically express their academic interests, experiences, goals, and personal narratives in their application materials. A solid command of written and spoken English, familiarity with international education systems, and the ability to develop compelling application stories are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Work individually with students to understand their academic backgrounds, interests, experiences, and future aspirations.
- Assist students in crafting and refining personal statements, statements of purpose, essays, and other application documents.
- Provide constructive feedback and conduct multiple rounds of editing while preserving the student’s authentic voice.
- Help students organize and effectively communicate their achievements and experiences.
- Mentor students throughout the writing and application stages, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure all application materials maintain a high standard of written English, clarity, structure, tone, and storytelling.
- Stay updated on international university application requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with counselors and team members to deliver a cohesive application strategy for students.
- Manage multiple student cases and application deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- An international undergraduate or master’s degree is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proven experience in writing, editing, content development, research, or academic writing.
- Strong interpersonal and mentoring abilities to work effectively with students.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic background in Social Sciences, Humanities, Communications, Education, or related fields.
- Previous experience in counseling, mentoring, admissions, education, or student guidance is highly desirable.
