XYZ Infotech is seeking a detail-oriented Oracle Developer with a strong foundation in PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports. The ideal candidate possesses at least five years of experience in Oracle database development and administration. This role focuses on designing, coding, testing, and implementing database applications, ensuring that they meet the organization's technical needs while maintaining optimum performance and security standards. The Oracle Developer will collaborate with a range of stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications for database systems. Although this position does not involve team management, the developer will work closely with other developers, analysts, and IT personnel to contribute to the overall success of various projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable PL/SQL code for database applications to ensure maximum performance.
- Create and customize Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports to facilitate user-friendly data entry and reporting.
- Implement database administration tasks, including monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance tuning to optimize the Oracle database environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of database applications to identify and address issues before production deployment.
- Develop documentation for database design, processes, and applications to support knowledge sharing and facilitate future enhancements.
- Stay up-to-date with Oracle technologies and industry best practices, applying new knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex database problems, providing timely support to resolve incidents and minimize system downtime.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to support application development efforts, offering insights on database capabilities and limitations.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and best practices to protect sensitive information across database applications.
