Zam Software Solutions is seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer with at least one year of formal experience in both automation and manual testing of customer-facing enterprise software solutions. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and possesses a strong understanding of software development workflows, frameworks, and testing methodologies. This role requires expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive test plans and automated test scripts, as well as debugging and defining corrective actions to enhance software quality. The engineer will work closely with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery by reviewing requirements, tracking quality assurance metrics, and applying effective testing strategies.
This position involves a variety of testing techniques including test automation, manual testing, regression, performance, and API testing within agile environments and continuous integration pipelines. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency with test management tools and defect tracking. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are essential. The role is individual contributor-based and does not involve team management responsibilities, focusing instead on collaboration across departments to uphold and advance quality standards in software releases.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed and well-structured test plans, test cases, and scenario matrices to cover all aspects of the software under test. Execute these plans thoroughly using both manual and automated methods to identify defects effectively. Participate actively in ongoing QA activities, analyzing outcomes and maintaining all testing documentation and artifacts diligently.
Design and implement testing strategies that align with project objectives, including automation frameworks and scripts using tools such as Selenium WebDriver with Java/Cucumber and API automation with Postman. Verify defect fixes and track issues through defect management systems to ensure resolved bugs do not recur. Collaborate closely with development teams and other stakeholders to provide timely feedback on requirements and technical documentation, facilitating continuous improvement in software quality.
Estimate, plan, prioritize, and coordinate testing tasks to meet project milestones and deadlines efficiently. Maintain and update test scripts and documentation to reflect software changes and new releases. Generate clear, concise, and comprehensive defect reports and provide actionable insights during team meetings. Support daily communication and coordination with on-shore teams to align QA activities and problem resolution.
Promote and sustain quality assurance best practices within the team, adapting to evolving technologies and methodologies. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, maintaining a proactive approach towards quality enhancement and testing innovation.
