Assistant Manager - Garment Factory

Zephyr Textiles Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager for its garment factory to oversee and optimize the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of garment accessories. The ideal candidate brings at least five years of experience in procurement and vendor management within the garment or textile industry. This role requires a strong focus on cost control, supply chain coordination, and maintaining quality compliance for all purchased materials. Although the position does not include team management responsibilities, the Assistant Manager will closely collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure smooth operational workflows and timely delivery of necessary accessories. The Assistant Manager plays a critical part in sustaining and improving supplier relationships while identifying new vendors that align with company needs. This role involves managing purchase orders, contracts, and negotiations to secure the best prices and conditions. With a key eye on inventory levels and cost management, the candidate will contribute to efficient production schedules and company profitability. Success in this role requires excellent vendor coordination skills, thorough procurement knowledge, and the ability to maintain compliance with company standards and quality requirements.
Responsibilities

Source and purchase garment accessories that meet company quality standards and production requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with current suppliers and proactively identify and evaluate new vendors to expand the supply base.
Manage the entire procurement process including purchase orders, contract negotiations, and vendor agreements to ensure favorable pricing and terms.
Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to align accessory deliveries with manufacturing schedules and inventory needs.
Monitor and control inventory stock levels to prevent shortages or oversupply, optimizing working capital and warehouse space.
Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards for all purchased accessories.
Implement cost control measures to reduce procurement expenses while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor performance, and contract details for audit and reporting purposes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve procurement issues and identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency.
Regularly review market trends and competitor pricing to maintain competitive advantage in sourcing strategies.
Negotiate terms with vendors and suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve service levels.
Support senior management with procurement-related reports and strategic recommendations.
