ZMJ Enterprises is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the financial accounting functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. This role demands a professional with the ability to prepare accurate financial statements, ensure tax compliance, and coordinate month-end closing activities effectively. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the company by applying sound accounting principles and ensuring adherence to applicable tax regulations.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 8 accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. They must have excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel along with accounting software to facilitate efficient data management and reporting. This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting roles, with demonstrated expertise in financial management, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, leading a team of 8 members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Coordinate and oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all transactions and adjustments are recorded correctly.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and verify the accuracy of entries in the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare all necessary tax filings and documentation.
- Implement and maintain effective accounting controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations that support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide required documentation and explanations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting standards and tax laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel functions to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve their accounting skills and productivity.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
