The Accountant at Agri Pump is responsible for managing accurate and timely financial processes in accordance with established accounting principles and Pakistani tax regulations. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with at least 10 years of experience or 5 years for candidates with CA-Inter or completed Articles, capable of preparing financial reports, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring compliance with audit standards. The position involves extensive use of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, or ERP systems, along with advanced proficiency in MS Excel to analyze financial data and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Though this role does not include team management responsibilities, it requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to uphold internal controls and support the company’s financial integrity. The Accountant plays a critical role in assisting Agri Pump with maintaining clean accounts payable and receivable records, tax preparations, and filings while ensuring strict adherence to tax compliance requirements. This professional also supports audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and reconciling accounts to identify variances or discrepancies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, a thorough understanding of financial statement analysis, and expertise in using tax preparation software. This position supports the financial planning and operational needs of Agri Pump by delivering dependable and insightful financial information.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and finalize financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with Pakistani accounting standards.
- Conduct thorough account reconciliation exercises to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the general ledger.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and recording of transactions.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate financial data and analysis to assist management in decision making.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing tax returns, managing tax filing procedures, and staying updated on tax law changes relevant to Pakistan.
- Utilize ERP software, QuickBooks, and tax preparation software to streamline accounting activities and maintain data integrity.
- Maintain robust internal control systems to prevent financial discrepancies and support audit readiness.
- Assist in audit preparations by compiling documentation, explaining accounting processes, and answering auditors’ inquiries.
- Perform detailed financial statement analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control or financial improvement.
- Implement and update accounting policies and procedures in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Apply advanced MS Excel skills to analyze complex financial data, prepare reports, and automate recurring accounting tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information flow and resolve any accounting issues.
