MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman – HVAC & Plumbing

The successful candidate is responsible for preparing detailed HVAC and Plumbing shop drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, riser diagrams, and installation details. They analyze and interpret consultant design drawings to develop construction-ready drawings, coordinate all MEP services to avoid conflicts, and maintain updated as-built drawings reflecting approved changes and site adaptations. Strong knowledge of UAE/Dubai project requirements and standards, particularly those from Dubai Municipality and DEWA, is highly valued. The role demands a detail-oriented approach with excellent technical drafting skills and the capability to produce high-quality output with minimal supervision. This position does not involve team management but requires effective collaboration with multiple project stakeholders to ensure drawings meet all construction and consultant expectations.
Responsibilities

Prepare detailed HVAC and Plumbing shop drawings using AutoCAD 2D, including ductwork, ventilation systems, chilled water piping, water supply, and drainage layouts.
Convert consultant IFC/design drawings into accurate and construction-ready MEP shop drawings that comply with project standards and regulations.
Develop detailed plans, sections, elevations, riser diagrams, and installation details to support building MEP services implementation.
Coordinate HVAC and Plumbing systems with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies before drawing submission.
Review and incorporate consultant comments and revisions promptly to maintain drawing accuracy and compliance.
Maintain consistent drawing standards, including proper use of layers, dimensions, levels, annotations, symbols, and technical details according to project specifications.
Update and prepare as-built drawings based on approved changes and site instructions to reflect the current state of the building services installations.
Ensure all MEP shop drawings are accurately coordinated, complete, and suitable for construction and submission to consultants and relevant authorities.
Collaborate with project engineers, consultants, and site teams to gather necessary information and ensure drawings meet project requirements.
Demonstrate strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and general MEP construction practices applicable to high-rise, commercial, and complex building projects.
Apply knowledge of local building codes and standards, including Dubai Municipality and DEWA regulations, to ensure compliance in drawing preparation.
Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
