Executive Procurement - Medical

Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Executive Procurement - Medical to join our healthcare procurement team. This role focuses on the strategic sourcing and procurement of medical devices and pharmaceutical supplies to ensure uninterrupted clinical operations. The ideal candidate will possess a Pharm-D or an equivalent pharmaceutical degree, coupled with a solid understanding of drug names, medical terminology, and regulatory compliance related to medical devices. With 1 to 3 years of experience in healthcare procurement, medical stores, or pharmaceutical logistics, this role suits candidates who excel under operational pressures and have a strong grasp of procurement best practices. The position demands proficiency in managing supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and maintaining strict adherence to Medical Device Reporting (MDR) regulations and regulatory compliance standards in the medical sector. In this role, the Executive Procurement - Medical will contribute to efficient inventory management and optimize procurement cycles to support the hospital's clinical product lines. The position requires working collaboratively with clinical departments to understand product specifications and procurement requirements while aligning with organizational goals. Although this role does not include team management responsibilities, it demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to operate effectively under tight operational timelines are essential qualities for success in this position.
Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic sourcing activities to identify and evaluate suppliers for medical devices and pharmaceutical products, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage supplier relationships by maintaining effective communication, evaluating supplier performance, and negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to understand procurement needs, product specifications, and clinical requirements to ensure appropriate and timely acquisition of medical supplies.
• Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels, prevent stockouts, and reduce excess inventory while ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
• Ensure full compliance with Medical Device Reporting (MDR) regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements related to medical device procurement.
• Prepare and review procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational protocols.
• Monitor market trends and emerging suppliers to identify new opportunities and risks affecting medical procurement strategies.
• Utilize MS Excel for tracking procurement activities, analyzing vendor data, and generating reports for management review.
• Coordinate with finance and logistics departments to ensure timely processing and delivery of procured goods.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, and drug nomenclature relevant to hospital procurement needs.
• Participate in audit preparation and respond to queries regarding procurement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Work effectively under tight operational timelines to meet urgent procurement demands and support hospital operations without disruption.
