Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee the internal audit charter, ensuring alignment with the hospitals strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the creation and execution of risk-based annual audit plans focusing on financial operations, clinical compliance, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Conduct comprehensive audits to assess regulatory compliance with bodies such as the Punjab Healthcare Commission and ensure adherence to international healthcare standards including JCI, ISO 9001, and ISO 15189.
- Manage forensic audit activities related to procurement and supply chain to identify risks, anomalies, and instances of non-compliance or fraud.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of patient health records by auditing hospital information management systems and related IT controls.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions effectively to the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, representing the hospital during audits and inspections to facilitate compliance and transparent communication.
- Guide, mentor, and manage a team of two audit professionals, fostering their development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance processes across the hospital.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in internal auditing, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards to proactively address risks and suggest improvements.
- Promote a culture of ethics and integrity throughout the organization, acting as a role model and ensuring all audit activities adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
