Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital is seeking a diligent Quality Assurance Pharmacist to ensure the highest quality standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations. This role focuses on maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all pharmaceutical products meet safety and quality specifications. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Pharmacy or relevant science degree and up to two years of experience in pharmaceutical quality assurance. The position does not involve managing a team but requires strong attention to detail and thorough documentation skills. The Quality Assurance Pharmacist performs critical inspections and verifications throughout the production process, including in-process checks, line clearance, and packaging inspections. This role emphasizes risk management, root cause analysis, and effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions to sustain continuous product quality improvement. The pharmacist maintains precise quality assurance records and collaborates with production teams to uphold regulatory compliance and company standards.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine in-process inspections of manufacturing and packaging operations to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform critical line clearance and area clearance checks before batch processing to prevent contamination and errors.
  • Inspect packaging materials, including labels, batch coding, expiry dates, and finished product packs against defined specifications.
  • Verify proper identification, status, and segregation of approved, quarantined, and rejected materials to maintain strict inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate Quality Assurance checklists, logs, and compliance records in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to align with company and regulatory quality objectives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using techniques such as Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, and Cause and Effect Diagram to investigate deviations and quality issues.
  • Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with validation processes to verify that manufacturing and testing procedures consistently produce high-quality pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk management strategies are effectively applied throughout production.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect current quality assurance practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GMP and other regulatory standards.
  • Support deviation investigations by gathering data and preparing documentation that facilitates thorough analysis and resolution.
  • Maintain pharmaceutical documentation with high accuracy to support regulatory submissions and quality assurance activities.
  • Monitor quality control processes continuously to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Contribute to training programs that raise awareness of quality standards and best practices among manufacturing personnel.
