Bright Minds is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with at least three years of experience in US medical billing. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems and demonstrates expertise in accounts receivable follow-up and denial management. This position requires excellent English communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high attention to detail. The role focuses on accurately posting claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and managing billing tasks in compliance with industry standards. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer processes is highly preferred. Additionally, experience with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) systems will be advantageous. Candidates who are available to work night shifts will be considered favorably, although this is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Accurately post and process medical claims using appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to ensure correct reimbursement.
- Perform detailed accounts receivable follow-up to resolve unpaid or underpaid claims promptly and efficiently.
- Manage claim denials by identifying causes, appealing denials, and coordinating with payers for resolution.
- Review patient billing information to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and payer requirements.
- Utilize EHR and PM systems to enter and retrieve billing data, assuring documentation completeness.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current medical billing laws, regulations, and payer guidelines to ensure proper billing practices.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing questions and discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers in a timely manner while adhering to payer-specific rules.
- Monitor billing reports to identify trends, errors, or areas requiring process improvement.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Support night shift operations as needed to maintain continuous workflow and meet company operational requirements.
