The Business Development Data Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of business development data within internal systems. This position supports the Business Development (BD) team by entering and updating data in real time, identifying inconsistencies, and maintaining high-quality reporting and workflow continuity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsible, and takes full ownership of their tasks while demonstrating a solid understanding of research operations and data entry standards. A strong ability to read and interpret clinical trial protocols, combined with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and update data in Atom and Salesforce on the same day to maintain current tracking and reporting.
- Maintain a minimum of 90% data entry accuracy, ensuring high standards of data quality.
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and errors in data; correct them when possible or escalate to relevant teams for resolution.
- Review and interpret study documentation, including clinical trial protocols, as needed.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address data issues, workflow gaps, and reporting discrepancies.
- Monitor and uphold data integrity across large-scale databases and BD tracking systems.
- Support team and departmental productivity by performing additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure data entry is consistent, clear, and aligned with departmental standards and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical research and research-related data entry practices.
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals, including executives, managers, clinicians, and subject matter experts.
- Experience with managing large-scale databases and maintaining data integrity.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Excel (with Google scripts), Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SQL Server queries.
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple, diverse data systems.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- At least one year of prior experience in clinical research is preferred.
- Current employees with knowledge of the company’s data systems are preferred.
- Ability to read and understand clinical trial protocols is preferred but can be trained.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools is an advantage.
- Highly responsible with strong ownership and accountability for assigned work.
