CNC Router Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Router Operator / Machinist to join our production team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering and have at least two years of experience operating and setting up CNC router tables, or possess equivalent professional machining experience. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC router machines to cut, shape, and engrave high-quality components from a variety of materials. Your work will involve closely following technical designs and production blueprints to ensure precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up, adjust, and operate CNC router tables to perform precision cutting, nesting, drilling, and profiling operations.
- Secure sheet goods and materials properly using vacuum tables, clamps, or fixtures to prevent movement and ensure machining accuracy.
- Select and install appropriate router bits such as up-cut, down-cut, compression, and v-groove based on the material type. Accurately set Z-axis tool lengths and origin points.
- Inspect finished parts against engineering drawings to verify clean edges, precise dimensions, and compliance with production quality standards.
- Upload, test, and execute CNC programs (G-code), making minor edits or offset adjustments on the controller to compensate for material thickness variations or tool wear.
- Perform routine daily maintenance on CNC routers, including cleaning dust collection systems and lubricating linear rails, while adhering strictly to workplace safety regulations.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience operating CNC router machines, or an equivalent combination of formal vocational training and verifiable hands-on industrial CNC router experience.
- Strong understanding of router parameters such as spindle speeds, feed rates, and chip load for various materials including MDF, plywood, plastics, acrylics, composites, and aluminum.
- Proficiency in using standard measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and digital gauges to verify part dimensions.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic, efficient in material optimization and nesting, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
