Aga Khan University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Coordinator for Administration in the Clinical Laboratory department based in Karachi, Pakistan. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of laboratory collection points, maintaining quality standards, and supporting both staff and patients. This position requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple administrative and operational tasks within a clinical laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of collection points across the Clinical Laboratory network.
- Conduct regular visits to collection points to perform financial and quality audits, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with quality indicators and the patient satisfaction index to maintain high standards of service.
- Address laboratory test queries, incident reports, and complaints from patients and physicians promptly within stipulated timelines.
- Oversee inventory management at collection points to guarantee availability and proper handling of supplies.
- Manage staff-related activities including duty assignments, leave scheduling, overtime, and training sessions to optimize workforce efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with CAP (College of American Pathologists) and JCIA (Joint Commission International Accreditation) standards to uphold quality patient care and laboratory accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience within any section of clinical laboratories at Aga Khan University Hospital, or 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in a similar laboratory setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Good knowledge of the various tests conducted by the Clinical Laboratory.
- Proficiency in computer software packages relevant to laboratory administration and data management.
