The Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi is seeking a Coordinator for the Department of Emergency Medicine. This role supports one of the region’s leading emergency medicine departments, which provides high-quality clinical services and academic programs. The department manages an 82-bed facility, including specialized units such as fast track, adult and pediatric emergency, cardiac emergency, clinical decision, resuscitation, isolation, and triage areas. Serving over 75,000 patients annually, the department also oversees a satellite free-standing emergency unit. The Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring smooth administrative operations and academic coordination within this dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for all departmental academic activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate medical education (UGME/PGME) programs such as residency and fellowship. This includes managing teaching schedules, examinations, OSCEs, workshops, evaluations via PowerApps software, academic records, and educational committees.
- Manage end-to-end trainee administration, encompassing recruitment, interviews, onboarding, ongoing communication, engagement, educational support, and maintenance of trainee records.
- Maintain and analyze data related to student evaluations and performance, producing summary reports as required.
- Assist the UGME/PGME director and coordinator with various administrative tasks to ensure efficient departmental functioning.
- Coordinate faculty profile updates in collaboration with the Dean’s Office.
- Support faculty promotion processes by preparing and submitting necessary dossiers.
- Organize departmental events and workshops, including circulation of flyers, logistical arrangements, and acquisition of Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours.
- Provide support to departmental and hospital committees as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in business management, healthcare management, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with various functions of hospital operations, particularly within emergency medicine settings.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office suite.
