We are looking for a skilled Deputy Manager Accounts to oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and daily finance activities. This role requires ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting internal controls, and collaborating effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain smooth financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, management reports, schedules, and other accounting documentation.
- Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, payments, receipts, and outstanding balances to maintain financial accuracy.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, customer accounts, and other financial records, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all accounting transactions.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external consultants or contractors on accounting and financial matters.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary schedules, documentation, and financial information.
- Monitor and evaluate internal controls, identifying opportunities to improve accounting procedures and operational efficiency.
- Review financial data to detect discrepancies, unusual transactions, or areas requiring corrective action.
- Assist Finance Manager and senior finance leadership in preparing financial information for decision-making purposes.
- Guide and mentor junior accounting staff, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, general ledger management, taxation, audit coordination, and accounting operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting certifications such as ACCA, CA, or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team coordination role is highly desirable.
