Euro Africa Travel is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of accounting experience and be capable of managing a team of 20 individuals effectively. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who can oversee financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting. The candidate will actively ensure tax preparation and compliance while managing accounts payable and receivable to maintain accurate financial records. Strong expertise in general ledger management, financial analysis, and audit support is essential to uphold the financial integrity and transparency of the company.
The Accountant will play a pivotal role in leading financial auditing processes, variance analysis, and financial statement analysis to inform strategic business decisions. The position also requires occasional business travel to coordinate with other branches and stakeholders. Proficiency in advanced Excel and ERP software is necessary to streamline operations and deliver accurate financial insights. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial health of Euro Africa Travel while leading and developing a substantial finance team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and management of accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning and financial goals of the company.
- Manage tax preparation activities and ensure adherence to all tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain proper cash flow and timely payments.
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded and balanced.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing audit schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Conduct comprehensive financial statement analysis to provide insights for management decision-making.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions and ERP software to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a finance team of 20 staff members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Coordinate business travel as needed to attend meetings, audits, or training sessions at different company locations.
