Key Responsibilities:
Coding and Billing:
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Verify billing information for completeness and accuracy.
Claims Processing:
- Monitor and follow up on submitted claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Investigate and address claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve billing issues.
Patient Interaction:
- Communicate with patients to address billing inquiries and provide clarification on insurance coverage.
- Verify patient information and coordinate with front office staff to ensure accurate billing details.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of billing activities and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Stay updated on industry changes and coding guidelines.
Revenue Cycle Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the revenue cycle and minimize billing errors.
- Generate and analyze reports related to key performance indicators in the billing process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller in a healthcare setting. (Preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Familiarity with medical insurance processes and policies. (Preferred)
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR). (Preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
