Deputy Manager Procurement

The Deputy Manager Procurement at Hi Tech Plastics Engineering plays a crucial role in managing the end-to-end international procurement processes for machinery, industrial equipment, and genuine spare parts. This position involves sourcing from global suppliers, including original equipment manufacturers and authorized distributors, ensuring that procurement activities align with operational needs and project timelines. The role demands strong commercial negotiation skills, contract management expertise, and the ability to oversee import procurement activities, guaranteeing timely delivery and adherence to quality and cost standards. The Deputy Manager ensures strict compliance with company policies and international trade regulations while fostering strategic relationships with suppliers and driving continuous improvements in procurement efficiency. Managing a team of seven procurement professionals, the Deputy Manager leads and mentors the team to optimize sourcing strategies, evaluate supplier performance, and resolve supply chain challenges. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Technical, Imports, and Warehouse is essential to harmonize procurement activities with organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of six years of experience in international procurement within similar industries and at least two years in a supervisory capacity, with robust knowledge of import procedures and vendor management. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing.
Responsibilities

• Manage the complete procurement cycle for imported machinery, industrial equipment, and spare parts, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Source, evaluate, and select international manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, authorized distributors, and global suppliers to meet quality and operational requirements.
• Obtain and analyze quotations from global vendors, preparing detailed commercial comparison reports to support informed decision-making.
• Negotiate pricing, Incoterms, payment terms, lead times, warranties, and contractual conditions to achieve favorable procurement agreements.
• Issue and monitor purchase orders throughout the execution phase, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams until final delivery and acceptance.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement in supplier performance and responsiveness.
• Evaluate supplier performance using defined metrics and identify potential new suppliers to enhance the global sourcing network.
• Address quality issues, warranty claims, shortages, shipment delays, and other procurement-related challenges promptly and effectively.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, supplier agreements, and relevant documentation ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable trade laws.
• Coordinate procurement efforts with Sales, Technical, Imports, and Warehouse departments to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
• Supervise and mentor a team of seven procurement professionals, providing guidance on international sourcing strategies and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international trade regulations relevant to import procurement.
