The HPC Engineer role is a full-time remote position focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance computing infrastructure and software solutions to support RedFort Group’s data-intensive workloads. This role involves developing and optimizing parallel and distributed applications, managing cluster resources, and troubleshooting performance and scalability challenges. The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and infrastructure teams to ensure HPC systems are reliable, secure, and efficient. Additionally, the role includes contributing to automation, documentation, and establishing best practices to enhance deployment pipelines and operational workflows. Staying current with emerging HPC technologies and tools is an essential part of this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize parallel and distributed computing applications to meet performance goals.
- Manage and maintain HPC clusters, including resource scheduling and job management using tools like Slurm, PBS, or Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and data scientists to support HPC infrastructure needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues within HPC environments.
- Implement automation and improve operational workflows to streamline deployment and maintenance processes.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Continuously research and evaluate emerging HPC technologies and tools to recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, and operating systems.
- Proficiency in software development and programming within high-performance or distributed computing environments.
- Experience with back-end web development related to HPC services, APIs, or microservices.
- Solid understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in scalable systems.
- Familiarity with HPC tools and frameworks such as MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, or similar technologies.
- Experience working in Linux-based environments and managing compute clusters.
- Hands-on experience with cluster schedulers and resource managers like Slurm, PBS, or Kubernetes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in remote or hybrid team settings.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
