The HVAC Supervisor at HRSI plays a critical role in overseeing the maintenance, installation, and repair activities of HVAC systems within the organization. The role involves supervising HVAC technicians, mechanics, and subcontractors to ensure that daily work schedules and preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented. The Supervisor inspects a wide array of HVAC equipment such as chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, variable refrigerant flow/volume systems, package and split units, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation systems, diagnosing faults and ensuring timely corrective actions. This position requires close coordination with other MEP teams and adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring smooth commissioning and handover of HVAC systems. Although this role does not manage a team in a formal capacity, it demands strong leadership in technical guidance, project coordination, and client communication. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8 to 10 years of relevant HVAC experience focused on plant operations and project execution. They exhibit deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems along with proficiency in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures. The HVAC Supervisor prepares detailed reports regarding ongoing operations while continuously monitoring system performance to enhance reliability and energy efficiency. The role demands an individual who is proactive in identifying potential operational issues and capable of maintaining comprehensive records to support effective maintenance management and compliance.
Responsibilities

  • Supervise HVAC technicians, mechanics, and subcontractors during installation, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate daily HVAC maintenance and work schedules to maximize operational efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Inspect HVAC equipment and systems, including chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, VRF/VRV systems, package units, split units, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation systems regularly to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Diagnose HVAC system faults accurately and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities to prevent downtime and improve system lifespan.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance programs and ensure all planned work is completed on schedule, tracking progress meticulously.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, method statements, and maintenance procedures to ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Coordinate HVAC activities efficiently with electrical, plumbing, civil, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams for integrated project delivery.
  • Ensure proper installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of HVAC systems in compliance with design specifications and quality requirements.
  • Manage manpower, tools, equipment, and materials required for HVAC activities, ensuring availability and optimal utilization.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service reports for auditing and operational review.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards during all HVAC operations to protect personnel and property.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential equipment failures, operational issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and management on HVAC-related activities, providing transparent updates and resolving issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to HVAC technicians and junior staff, enhancing their skills and operational knowledge.
  • Monitor HVAC system performance continuously and recommend improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and energy conservation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress and maintenance reports to keep stakeholders informed on project status and performance.
  • Ensure all HVAC tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and used safely according to standards and procedures.
