Intern - Software Engineering

We are seeking a motivated and disciplined fresh graduate with a solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals to join our internship program. This role goes beyond web development and includes exposure to application development, development environments, Linux, Docker, deployment workflows, automation, and the use of AI tools to enhance software engineering productivity and quality. The internship provides hands-on experience with real-world projects and modern development practices, offering a strong foundation for a career in software engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in various stages of the software engineering lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Work with different programming languages and development tools based on project requirements.
- Utilize version control systems like Git to collaborate effectively within the team.
- Engage with Linux command line operations and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation workflows.
- Apply AI-powered programming tools and generative AI techniques to assist in coding, debugging, testing, and improving software quality.
- Follow established development practices and write maintainable, high-quality code.
- Collaborate with team members and take feedback constructively to improve performance.

Required Qualifications
- Fresh graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Good understanding of the software engineering lifecycle and development processes.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language, with openness to learning others.
- Basic knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
- Understanding of Linux fundamentals and command line usage.
- Awareness of Docker and containerization concepts.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of AI-powered programming tools and generative AI, including their practical applications in software development.
- Strong focus, discipline, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Willingness to learn, solve problems, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work systematically.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Practical experience with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, automation, and deployment workflows is highly desirable.
- The internship duration is 8 weeks and will be conducted on-site at our office in PECHS, Karachi.
- A fixed stipend will be provided for the entire internship period.
