Junior Full-Stack Engineer (Next js & Azure, AI)

The client is a UK-based real estate developer known for creating lifestyle-led living spaces by leveraging an international team and global best practices. They are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Azure, modern web development, AI/LLM technologies, and cloud-based application architecture. The ideal candidate will be proficient across the entire technology stack, including frontend and backend development, databases, cloud infrastructure, authentication, and AI integrations. Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and MCP servers is essential to accelerate development while ensuring code quality, security, and engineering discipline. This role demands an independent problem solver who can troubleshoot complex issues, understand business needs, and take full ownership of solutions from development to deployment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications covering frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Build and manage applications using Next.js (App Router) and Prisma ORM.
- Utilize Microsoft Azure services for cloud infrastructure, storage, databases, and identity management.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization flows with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Integrate and manage vector databases to support AI, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.
- Work with LLM APIs and models, understanding token usage, model selection, API costs, context management, and prompt design trade-offs.
- Employ AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and MCP servers as part of daily workflows.
- Ensure AI-assisted development adheres to code review, testing, security, and engineering best practices.
- Independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve development and production issues.
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications and practical solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, workflows, and development processes.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders using GitHub, following branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD practices.
- Take ownership of assigned features and technical challenges with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Blob Storage and databases such as Azure SQL or Cosmos DB.
- Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure and cloud deployment concepts.
- Practical experience integrating LLM APIs/models into applications, with knowledge of token usage, API costs, model selection, context management, and prompt design.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and MCP servers.
- Familiarity with vector databases or vector search technologies like Pinecone, Qdrant, pgvector, or Azure AI Search, and understanding of embeddings and RAG workflows.
- Strong full-stack development skills, especially with Next.js (App Router) and Prisma ORM.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL database design is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and modern authentication/authorization concepts.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ownership of production issues.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and produce clear technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1-2 years of professional full-stack development experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
