The BIM Engineer (LOD 350-500) will play a critical role in developing and managing high-fidelity 3D models of tower structures, primarily focusing on telecom and utility towers. This position involves creating precise, construction-grade digital twins that incorporate detailed structural connections, component data, and IoT sensor inputs. The goal is to support structural analysis, predictive maintenance, and the operational lifecycle management of these assets. This is a remote contract role expected to last 2-3 months, centered around tower digital twin projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and refine 3D models at LOD 350-500, ensuring accurate representation of tower components such as lattice structures, monopoles, and mounts, along with their precise connections to antennas, mounts, and cables.
- Convert laser scan data and point clouds into detailed Revit models to produce highly accurate as-built digital twins.
- Conduct multidisciplinary clash detection and resolution to verify that new equipment fits within existing structures without conflicts prior to deployment.
- Integrate IoT sensor data into BIM models to monitor real-time structural conditions including deflection, temperature, and stress.
- Prepare models for structural engineering analysis by ensuring accurate geometry, material specifications, and connectivity details.
- Generate, manage, and update construction documentation, shop drawings, and asset data sheets to maintain comprehensive project records.

Required Qualifications

- Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit is mandatory, with strong skills in AutoCAD. Experience with Navisworks for clash detection and Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (RSA) software is also required.
- 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in BIM modeling, preferably with a focus on structural steel or telecommunication towers.
- Deep understanding of AIA Level of Development (LOD) specifications, especially the transition from LOD 350 to higher levels involving detailed elements and connections.
- Proven experience in linking BIM models with IoT systems to enable asset management through digital twins.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

This role demands a strong technical background in BIM processes, structural modeling, and digital twin technology, combined with the ability to work remotely and deliver precise, construction-grade models that support advanced asset management and lifecycle analysis.
