General Manager Operations

The General Manager Operations will be instrumental in setting operational strategies and monitoring key performance indicators to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency across all store locations. The role requires strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business strategies into executable plans. The incumbent will champion process improvements, technology adoption, and automation opportunities to elevate order fulfillment and customer experience across both physical and online sales channels. Collaboration with senior management on business expansion initiatives and operational planning is a key component of this position, demanding excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, multi-departmental environment.
Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end operations across Liberty Books' retail network and all supporting operational functions to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Drive sales performance, operational productivity, and cost optimization by developing and enforcing robust operational strategies.
Oversee inventory planning, stock replenishment, warehousing, and distribution activities to maintain optimal stock availability and supply chain integrity.
Establish, monitor, and enforce operational key performance indicators (KPIs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance standards across all retail locations.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational inefficiencies and enhance store processes.
Ensure seamless collaboration and communication between Retail, Warehouse, Finance, HR, Marketing, Publishing, and E-commerce departments to synchronize operations.
Strengthen order fulfillment processes and improve customer experience across both physical stores and online channels through effective logistics management.
Analyze operational and sales data to uncover performance gaps, market trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement and growth.
Ensure strict implementation of company policies, operational controls, and compliance standards across the organization.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team of 20 members, fostering a results-driven culture characterized by accountability and ownership.
Identify opportunities to adopt process automation, implement new technologies, and facilitate continuous operational enhancements.
Collaborate with senior management to support business planning, expansion efforts, and refine operational strategies aimed at long-term growth.
