Maknit (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a diligent Store Manager with at least two years of experience to oversee the material store operations of a socks manufacturing and export unit. This role is pivotal in managing incoming materials and distributing them efficiently to production departments to ensure continuous production flow. The Store Manager maintains precise inventory records, which supports cost control and prevents stock discrepancies. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required to prepare comprehensive daily and monthly inventory reports presented to senior management. This position demands excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to independently handle stock movement, carry out physical stock counts, and report variances accurately.
Although this role does not involve managing a team, it requires effective coordination with the purchasing department and production floors to guarantee availability of materials before necessity, and to highlight potential shortages in advance. The ideal candidate ensures stock is safely stored, properly labeled, and organized to facilitate smooth store operations and minimize disruptions in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Receive yarn, elastic, lycra, packing materials, cartons, labels, chemicals, and machine spares; verify quantities against delivery documentation and record every inward entry accurately.
- Issue materials to production departments based on approved requisitions and maintain detailed department-wise issuance records.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Microsoft Excel, ensuring that book stock consistently matches physical stock.
- Prepare and circulate daily reports detailing material consumption, purchases, and closing stock to relevant stakeholders.
- Compile and present monthly stock reports to the Executive Director, covering opening stock, purchases, consumption, and closing stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts, identify discrepancies, and provide documented explanations for any variances.
- Establish and maintain minimum and reorder levels for all critical inventory items; issue timely requisitions to avoid stockouts.
- Keep the store organized, properly labeled, and safely stored, with special attention to sensitive items such as yarn and chemicals.
- Coordinate closely with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement and with production departments to understand material requirements and consumption patterns.
- Monitor stock movement continuously to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with safety and storage protocols to protect inventory and maintain workplace safety standards.
