The ideal candidate brings at least two years of experience installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. This role requires hands-on expertise in fire detection device installation and testing, as well as programming fire alarm control panels. The technician plays a crucial part in ensuring fire safety compliance and system reliability across diverse facilities, working closely with other departments to support safety measures. The Fire System Technician works independently and with a focus on accuracy and safety standards, as the role does not include team management responsibilities. The position calls for a candidate with a diploma in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines and a solid understanding of relevant technical processes and safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues promptly are essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities

Install fire alarm systems and fire detection devices according to technical specifications and safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections and tests on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Program and configure fire alarm control panels, ensuring all settings meet project and safety standards.
Perform maintenance tasks, including repairs and component replacements, to maintain uninterrupted fire system performance.
Diagnose malfunctions or faults within fire alarm and detection systems and execute corrective actions efficiently.
Document all installation, testing, and maintenance activities in detailed reports for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
Collaborate with project managers and other departments to coordinate installations and system upgrades.
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and industry best practices during all technical activities.
Keep current with technological advances and updates in fire safety systems and equipment.
Support emergency response efforts related to fire safety system operations and troubleshooting.
Participate in training sessions and safety meetings to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
